Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-07
This page describes what the fiberit.ro website stores in your browser, what each item is for and how you change your choice. It is written about what happens now, not about what might happen: when we add something, it goes here first.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file, made of letters and digits, that a website saves in your browser and reads on later visits. Some cookies contain an identifier which, alone or together with other data, can lead back to you; under the GDPR such an identifier is personal data, and that is how we treat it too.
Besides cookies, a site can also use the browser's storage (localStorage, sessionStorage). We treat it the same way and list it here as well.
2. What the site stores right now
| Name | What it is | What it does | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| fiberit-consent | cookie, set by us | Remembers what you chose in the banner (per category), when you chose it and the banner version, so we do not ask again on every page. | 12 months |
| fiberit-wa-msg | session storage (sessionStorage), set by us | Remembers that you closed the message next to the WhatsApp button, so we do not show it again on every page. | until you close the tab |
| _ga, _ga_J4SNPHPYQJ | analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics 4 only after you accept the Traffic analytics category | Tell one visitor from another so we can count visits and page views. No names or emails. The data goes to Google, which processes it on our behalf. | 2 years |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | marketing cookies, set by Google Ads only after you accept the Marketing category | Link a quote request (phone, WhatsApp, email) to the Google ad you came from, so we know which campaign brought it. Google may also set cookies on its own domains (for example IDE on doubleclick.net). | 90 days (IDE: 13 months) |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | technical cookies, set by Cloudflare | Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, may set them when it needs to tell a visitor apart from an automated program. | up to 30 minutes, respectively for the duration of the check |
All three are strictly necessary within the meaning of Romanian Law 506/2004, so they need no consent. They hold no personal data beyond your choice, go to no one and do not track you across other sites.
3. What the site does not do
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you accept the Traffic analytics category in the banner, and Google Ads sets cookies only after you accept Marketing. Until then nothing loads from Google. It loads no Meta or TikTok pixels, no embedded maps, no Google fonts and no other third-party scripts. Fonts and all resources come from our own domain.
The WhatsApp button and the links to LinkedIn, Facebook or Google load nothing from them until you click. When you click, you go to their service, under their rules.
4. The categories in the banner
The banner shown on your first visit has three categories. Today only the first one contains anything:
- Strictly necessary · the items in the table above. They cannot be switched off, because without them the site cannot remember your choice.
- Traffic analytics · Google Analytics 4, with the _ga and _ga_J4SNPHPYQJ cookies from the table. It loads only after you accept. If you change your mind from the footer, we stop it and delete its cookies.
- Marketing · Google Ads (conversion measurement), with the _gcl_au and _gcl_aw cookies from the table. It loads only after you accept. If you change your mind from the footer, we stop it and delete its cookies.
Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask again. Any new tool appears in the table above before it is switched on.
5. How to change your choice
- In the banner, on your first visit: "Accept all", "Only necessary" or "Customize".
- At any time, from the "Cookie settings" button at the bottom of every page.
- In your browser: you can view, block or delete cookies from the browser's privacy settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge each have a "Cookies" or "Privacy" section).
If you delete the consent cookie, the banner appears again on your next visit. That is all: no function of the site depends on cookies.
6. Legal basis
Strictly necessary storage is based on art. 4 of Romanian Law 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector, which requires no consent for it. Any other category would be activated only on the basis of your consent. How we process personal data in general is described in the Privacy Policy.
